Terracotta Jar Dolium

Dolium is a terracotta container of almost spherical shape, 120 cm high and 140 cm wide. It owes its name and imposing size to its ancestor, who was widespread in Roman times, and was mostly used for the transport and storage of wine or grain. Made by hand despite its exceptional size, this is a terracotta vase intended in most cases for an ornamental function, enhanced by the optional travertine base and hat. The belly of the vase, also shaved by hand, unfolds an ever-changing chromatic and tactile texture that allows you to appreciate the qualities of Galestro Colorobbia® and the evolution that this outdoor terracotta undergoes over time. Climate, position, solar radiation, humidity and salinity of the air cause changes - physiological and purely aesthetic - in the material that do not compromise its resistance.
