Acanto is a handmade terracotta vase that draws inspiration from classic models with a shape called "crater"; in particular, the most direct reference for this cup is the "cup crater". Used by the ancient Greeks to mix water and wine, these large vessels were placed in the centre of the room. In modern times this splendid vase shape, suitable for holding small plants or flower arrangements, is widely used in gardens and homes, where it is often used as a pure furnishing element. The mouth of the vase is crowned by a border decorated with leaves but what is striking is the stem, dominated by a graceful vegetable spiral. Another characteristic element are the handles made by hand and glued after the moulding of the vase in correspondence with bearded masks. Acanto is available in two heights and four colour variations: to the traditional terracotta is added Etrusca, an anthracite colour made with impasto, and two enamel colours, white and green.
